Compassionate Care Western North Carolina is a not-for-profit health care agency offering a special kind of care, often called hospice. It is designed to provide sensitivity and support to terminally ill patients and their families. Hospice care seeks to help patients carry on an alert, pain-free life and manage their symptoms so that their last days can be spent with dignity and quality, at home, in a long-term care facility, or in the hospital. It is built on the principles of comfort, dignity, choice, and control and it is provided without regard to age, sex, race, color, national origin, religion, disability, or ability to pay.
We aspire to a higher standard of care.
We are dedicated to being recognized as the hospice of choice in our community and for being the most respected and trusted experts in palliative and hospice care.
We are committed to serve patients and families in accordance with these core values:
Our patients are provided care with the same dignity and respect we would expect for ourselves or our loved ones.
Those we serve will receive compassionate care well beyond accepted standards.
We believe in patient-focused care. Our role is to educate and honor the wishes of the patient and families to enhance the patient’s quality of life.
Our staff and volunteers hold ourselves and other team members accountable for achieving our mission.
Our caregiving team functions collaboratively to provide quality medical, social, emotional and spiritual support.
We will increase the community’s awareness of palliative and hospice care as part of the continuum of care.
